Fitting LEDs is certainly not a new idea but until recently they have been restricted to expensive, new guitars and could only be installed during the manufacturing process. To fit the lights to an existing guitar previously required drastic measures such as removing the fret board.

The SimS technique allows the LEDs to be installed on the side edge and / or front face of the guitar neck without disturbing the fret board thus retaining the guitar's original feel.

The LEDs are flush fitted under mother of pearl dot inlays with a fibre optic cable carrying light to the side edge markers. The LEDs come in a variety of colours including laser red, gold, godzilla green and electric blue. Battery life has proven to be extremely good with tests showing continuous illumination for up to 60 hours.

Our system was designed and developed by company founder Martin Sims who encountered the common problem of diverse lighting conditions during live performances. This creates difficulty seeing the dot markers so a solution was required.

Our system has proven extremely popular and has been requested by many top performing musicians such as Stuart Zender, Mark King, TM Stevens, John Paul Jones, Billy Sheehan, Rhonda Smith of the N.P.G, Graeme Clark of Wet Wet Wet and Cass Lewis of Skunk Anansie who have all incorporated the LED experience into trier live shows.

Instruments being sent for LED fitting include electric guitar and basses as well as acoustic guitars, double necks, violins, double basses and keyboards. The possibilities are endless and governed only by the imagination.
